SUMMARY:  When you don’t need information at an instant, protect yourself from EMFs by turning off or unplugging or with an electronic timer.

Electric and magnetic fields (EMFs) are invisible areas of energy associated with electrical useage. 

There are a few ways to classifications of EMFs. Non-Ionizing EMFs include microwaves, Smart Meters from your power company, WiFi Routers, computers, etc.  Ionizing EMFs would be UV lights in fluorescent light bulbs, and X-Ray. 

We can further break this down into native and non-native EMFs.  Native EMFs come from nature, sunlight and the earth’s magnetism. Non-native EMFs are man made from electronic devices like appliances, Bluetooth, microwave, etc.  As a general rule, I always put my trust in things natural before anything man-made.

Non-ionizing EMFs are considered by government agencies to be harmless.  However, alternative health experts refute this claim.  In any case, it seems logical to reduce exposure to non-native, non-ionizing EMFs if they are unnecessary.

With EMF exposure, some people have symptoms and others none at all. However, having no symptoms isn’t a good reason to increase EMF stress loads on the body unnecessarily. Though EMF exposure may or may not cause symptoms directly, they are just another stressor that may lead to the “straw that broke the camel’s back,” wherein an accumulation of little stresses hits a breaking point in the body.

Some symptoms may be headaches, fatigue, insomnia, brain fog, depression, mood swings, itchiness/tingling, and hormonal issues like menstrual/infertility, obesity, and insulin resistance.

Granted today, it is impossible to avoid EMFs. Here in San Diego, we receive a much higher amount of EMF due to all the military activity.  But if you wouldn’t expose a pregnant woman to unnecessary x-ray radiation, why would you ever want to expose your body to unnecessary non-ionizing, non-native EMFs like a cell phone when you’re not using it? What’s the simple solution? TURN IT OFF.

While this may be impractical during the day, at least at night make sure to TURN IT OFF. Your best time to be EMF free as possible is when you sleep!  Your healing takes place when you sleep.  So make your room a sleep sanctuary by turning off your EMFs. 

How to do it?

1. Turn off your iPhone, at least turn it on AIRPLANE mode. Be sure to turn off LOCATION SERVICES (GPS). It does not automatically disable with Airplane mode.

2. Turn off your WiFi Router and your WiFi devices. Even when your TV is off, the WiFi is still looking for signals from your Router. The easiest way to do this is to set both on an electronic timer.

I use this on all smart TVs and the WiFi router. At 10 pm it turns off, and 5 am it turns on. This leaves at least seven hours of a minimized EMF environment for my family.

Whether there is any clinical damage to the body, EMFs from non-native sources can’t possibly help you.  So why increase the burden during your ONLY healing time while sleeping?  This is a simple, cheap, and effective way to minimize EMF exposure.  Just turn it off!
